ABOUT
"And suddenly you know it’s time to thrust the magic of new beginnings.”
And suddenly you know…
This I read on the side of an old stone structure on the El Camino de Santiago in May of 2023. Camino means “to walk”. So there I was. I was walking the ancient pilgrimage, trekking 180 miles over 10 days from Southern France to the middle of Spain just north of Madrid to a little town called Burgos. Why was I walking? I was tired, of what I call, living on the edges of my own life. Letting fear to be me, a Transmasculine man, and fear of failure, fear of what could be, stop me from living a life of utter joy and happiness that I knew I deserved. We all deserve. It was time to leave all of that behind. To literally walk it off and leave it in the dust of the Camino so I could open up to the fullness of own my life. It was time to choose something new.
Does any of this sound familiar?
Are you a Transgender or gender non-conforming person who is tired of struggling with fear? Do you crave to live the joyful life you deserve but find it a challenge to find inspiring models of what it can look like to live a fulfilled, happy, life as a Transgender person in America? Or maybe you have someone in your life that is Transgender and you would like to learn more about living as Trans so you can better support them wherever they are in transition?
If yes, then this podcast, this community, it is for you my friend.
The Queer Carter Podcast is all about inspiration, exploration, and community. It is about allowing ourselves to open to life and honor our stories. On the show, we will also strive to reveal the very human experience of being Trans in America and exploring this reality. How? By grounding ourselves smack dab in the middle of both. Trans in the Military. Trans in Religion, Trans in the Family, Trans in Small Business, Trans in Education and Sports. Trans in all areas of American life. Lastly, it is about holding space for a singular truth I believe in — that valuing one’s life as a Transgender person, and embracing the values of our country, can absolutely co-exist. And not only can they co-exist, Trans Americans can live happy, thriving, fulfilling lives. Lives of service and dedication, within a country that reciprocities, loves, and values them. A country that supports them, includes them, and uplifts them.
So, no matter who you are, no matter how you identify, Queer, Trans, Family, or Friend, I hope you will join me in exploring the very human experiences of these courageous Transgender Americans. I hope you feel inspired by listening. I hope you will find the comfort to be you. To make friends, and to build community. Thank you for being here!
